July has come... Show your Independence in your creativity...

Well, obviously June just passed me by! With my classes and the huge project I had due for my final, June just slipped away from me! So, I wanted to kick July off with a Huge Bang! For the July Pursuit I am searching for creative works that assert your Independence from the norm! Show me something that makes your creations individual and unique- How do you differentiate yourself from others who work in the same medium? If you want to share a story, tell a bit about your item, or just post the picture and link to let us ponder... Go ahead!

Now, another fun angle I have added to the pursuits is a Yahoo Group! You can share your work, your photo's, your links to your shops or blogs and more! Just promote yourself! The idea of the group is to give viewers a resource to find you! Load photos, show off your shop, link it to your blog, and more! Have patterns or tutorials? Share them!

Also, enter your twitter into the tweet along page (tab is at the top)! Once you add your link, go to twitter and do a search for the hashtag #POH and find all of us there! Then you can retweet each other and the July Independence Items you have all posted! Make sure to add this to the yahoo group, too!

It is all about promoting one another and showing each other off! I have always said, the most interesting people you will ever meet are the creative minds that work with their hands! Make new friends and share your tips, insight, and personality with the world... Here is the place to do it!

Once everyone has posted links and photo's for July I will create a slideshow and show you off on the yahoo group, the blog, my website, and the facebook fan page! So show your independence from the norm and get your most creative and unique project posted here!

Have fun! Take a minute and comment on the others, too!

Excerpt from Mishaps of Mommy Blog- Enjoy!

Well, here it is September.... I have been very busy with the blogs this month! I hope you have learned and benefitted from some of the tips, links, and ideas we have shared here! I also hope you have had the chance to check out some of my other blogs-
Mommy's Reviews you Can Use at http://mommysreviewsyoucanuse.blogspot.com
A New You at http://mommytymeswordsofwisdom.blogspot.com

Each of these blogs has different content to help you with your life, family, business, etc. So, please give them a view!

Also, as a new business owner, salesperson, handmade/handcrafted artisan, you may still find the market a tough nut to crack! I know I do! Some weeks are great, while others I feel like I am just wasting time- but, patience and diligence are the keys! So, keep moving forward!

Last month on the web site at http://www.mommytyme.org I gave away several free sample products for my contest/drawing- and the winner has been announced- visit the site and see who it is!

This month, again, I am offering a free gift for participating in the contest that runs between all of my blogs and the site! Up for grabs - an extra large, 50unce, butter Bath Bar- these great bars are jam packed with skin loving essentials like organic jojoba oil, honey, shea butter, a heaping scoop of organic cocoa butter, kokum butter, lanolin, vegetable glycerin and more! Moisturize while you shower or bathe! These come in fantastic, rich, long lasting scents that you will love! I will be giving one bar away every 10 days until October 10th! So, check back often and see if your announced! Then just contact me with the shipping address!

So, here are the new entry rules for the Butter Bar Giveaway:

1. Follow Mommy Tyme on Twitter - see the follow me button below (I will follow you back!)

2. Follow the blog
3. Sign the guestbook at the website http://www.mommytyme.org
4. Use the share button below - simply share this with at least 3 places (facebook, twitter, digg, etc. any of the choices listed, or you can share with the same site 3 times- it does not matter to me!)

Bookmark and Share

Once you have done that, your name goes into the drawing bowl! That's it, that's all! To ensure your name is entered (in case you have any doubts) you can ask for confirmation in a comment on any of my blogs, or you can request confirmation in the guestbook at the site, or you can even email me at Mommytyme70@yahoo.com

Good luck!

More opportunities- Do you write well? Would you love to share a story about your WAH? Your opportunities you offer? Your items? etc? Do you have an article that women can benefit from? Well, write me an article for the website! Submit your article to Mommytyme70@yahoo.com and if I use it on the site, you will receive free Banner advertising with a link for as long as I use the article! You can write about your work, your items you create, offer a free pattern, recipe, whatever. I am open to take in all types of content! This is a great chance for more exposure for you, and for your business!

Finally- Interested in posting a link on my shopping pages of the website? It's simple! Just pick up one of my banners listed below, - post it on your site or blog with my link

Link to : http://mishapsofmommy.blogspot.com

then send me an email with your banner and link and let me know where I can find mine on your site! That is it! I love reciprocal advertising and banner exchanges!

Hi all. I wanted to take a moment to share an email I received today- I realize this is a form email (so to speak), but it really, truly offended me. I belong to several social networks and I take time to read most of the invites, emails, etc. that I receive. Many time does not allow me to attend, but I do acknowledge the fact that my social network friends thought to invite me. I also read sales pitches and have been added to many vendors email lists. If it is something I am not interested in, I just delete it. I never send rude or hurtful mails back to people. I am a member of facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, etc. so I receive tons of mail. I also have my own webstie, 4 stores, and 3 blogs- so I expect a lot of mail. Today, however, I received the following:

"Hello Valerie,

This message serves as notification that you will not receive any more courtesy notices from our members for two days. Messages you have sent will remain in a lower priority queue for our member to review at their leisure.

Future messages will be more likely to be viewed if you are on our member's priority Guest List. "

Now, currently I do not belong to Boxbe, nor do I have the time or interest to set up an account. I feel as if I am being blackmailed into doing this, otherwise individuals will not receive my emails. I am unfamiliar with Boxbe, so could someone please enlighten me. Does the user have control over these settings? Is this the users choice? Or is it automatic? Do you think receiving messages like this are rude? Or am I overreacting? I am just curious on your thoughts...
